‘Signing Santa’ Comes to Barton Creek Square for Kids Who Are Deaf, Hard of Hearing
Every year in Austin, Texas, a “Signing Santa” makes an appearance at the Barton Creek Square Mall. Hard of hearing and deaf children from the area can visit this Santa, who is also deaf, and communicate using sign language.
Many people are grateful this 15-year tradition is continuing despite the pandemic. Santa wears a mask, and the children receive a free photo and a treat during their visit.
Although kids had to wear a mask and make an appointment, many kids turned out to see this Signing Santa.
