First-ever ‘Deaf Prom’ held in Fresno for non hearing students
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center in Fresno, California, held its first “Deaf Prom” for local high school students. In addition to special decorations and a photo booth, the bass in the music was amped up so everyone could feel the beat.
“Very often, (students) go to regular high school proms and it’s not accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing, said Michelle Bronson, executive director of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service Center, Inc.
The organization hopes to hold another “Deaf Prom” next year.
