Kelly Elementary Robotics Team Strives for Inclusion
At the Kelly Elementary School in Carlsbad, the robotics team has taken on the challenge of writing books that include stories from different points of view. The books are being sold to raise money for their team, which is known as ComoFun.
One of their projects was to build a chariot for team-member Bailey Benton, who has autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. Deaf team-member Cece Bell is the focus of the newest book, “El Deafo,” which is written from a deaf person’s point of view.
The books are available for purchase on Amazon and Lulu. You can read the full article here.
